To set up appointment reminder through emails, go to Advanced Setup and choose Notifications.

To add/ edit email reminder configuration select E-Mail tab.

From (E-Mail): The sender email address which should show under reminder
Auth. Email: Email from which the alert is sent
Auth. Password: Password for the above email
Mail Host: Host name for above email
Subject: Subject of Message
Select Message Option: The message which should go to patient with the formula @#ApptTime#@
Test email settings: To test the email setting
Message: The message that should go to patient
Send: The alert should be send, to the patient prior to the selected days/hours before scheduled appointment
Enable: To enable or to disable the alert

Note: In the Patient Demographics page, check the field for Email under Contact Information and update the correct email address for the patient.

For SMS Reminders select the Text Message/ SMS tab

Click on the Save button to save edited/ added changes.

Note: In the Patient Demographics page,  check the fields for Home/Work/ Cell under Contact Information and update the same. Also, click on   next to the Work Phone to select the reminder method. Text reminders require the cellphone carrier to be selected in the screen.
