Authorization screen is accessed from the Patient demographic page. click on the Authorization button to access the screen.
The Authorization is auto tracked by the system and every use of an Authorization reduces the Visits Remaining from the total number of Visits. Creating an Authorization also auto triggers an alert that can be seen on selecting the patient in Charges and Payments screens.
There are 2 sections on the Authorization screen – the top section shows the existing Authorizations and the bottom section – “Authorization Information” is used for adding a new Authorization or editing the information on the existing Authorization.
Adding New Authorization
Click on the symbol on the top right of the screen to open a blank Authorization page.
On the Authorization Information section, enter the mandatory information – Type, Insurance, Authorization Number & Visits Allowed.
Note: If the Type selected is – “Insurance”, please ensure the insurance selected here, matches the insurance added for the patient.
The rest of the fields are optional and can be used to view additional information on the Authorization. After you enter the values to the fields, hit the Save button. The new Authorization will now appear on your patient’s list and it needs to be linked to the visits that require authorization.
Visit Tracking (Linking Authorization)
The Authorization needs to be linked with the respective case in order to reflect while doing the charge entry.
To link Authorization with the case, open the respective case and click on the Authorization field where existing authorization list will be displayed as a drop-down list.
Select the appropriate authorization and save the case to update it.
Once the Authorization is linked with the case, it will be automatically linked to Charge Entry Screen when the case is selected.
