The Other Attributes Page

The Other Attributes page of the patient demographics contains miscellaneous information about a patient.

1. To access the Other Attributes page, select the Patient module from the left side menu.

2. Search for the patient (as in Image 1) and click on the name to open up the Patient Demographics screen.

3. Click on the Other Attributes tab (highlighted in Image 2). The Other Attributes screen will appear, as shown in Image 3.

Important fields in the Other Attributes Screen

Field Description
Employed Select one from the drop-down.
Student Select one from the drop-down.
Previous name (if any)
Other information a) Driver’s License #
b) Place of Birth
c) Date Of Death
d) Cause of Death
e) Fax
Pharmacy Type in the name of the patient’s preferred pharmacy. From the pharmacy list that appears, choose the preferred one. To add a new pharmacy, click on the  button.
Lab Type in the name of the lab. From the Lab List that appears, choose the preferred lab.
Radiology Type the same in the field. From the radiology list that appears, choose the preferred radiology center.
Employer Type in the name of the employer and choose from the employer list that appears. To add a new employer, click on the  button.
Attorney Type in the name of the attorney and select from the list that appears. To add a new attorney, click on the  button.
Emergency Contact Information Enter the name, relationship, and phone number for the person to contact in case of an emergency.
Statements Select Type, Residence Type, and Mail To
Authorization Information The required authorization that is to be sent with the claim.
Do not Send Statements Select the checkbox in case the patient does not want statements to be sent.

(Note: This preference can also be set at the encounter level to allow users to exclude specific encounters from the statements. Go to Charge Master Details tab and check “Do Not send Statements’ to block statements encounter wise.)

Do not send e-Statements Select this option if the patient does not want e-Statements to be sent.
Do not Send Notifications Select this to opt out of appointment reminders and other notifications from the practice
Exempt from Reporting
Select the checkbox to exempt patient data from Meaningful Use Reporting.

After entering the required information, click on the Save button.

Saved Cards On File

All cards associated with the patient and saved in the system are listed in this area. Any saved card can be deleted by clicking on the delete and on confirmation by the user, the saved card is inactivated from the list. Deleted cards are shown with a red-colored strikethrough (see Image 3).

e-Statement Delivery Exclusion

To enhance e-Statement delivery reliability, the system verifies patient contact information according to the selected communication channels. Statements are automatically placed on the exclusion list in the following situations:

  • Both SMS and Email enabled: The statement is excluded if either the email address or cell phone number is missing in the patient’s profile.
  • Only SMS enabled: The statement is excluded if the cell phone number is missing; the email address is disregarded.
  • Only Email enabled: The statement is excluded if the email address is missing; the cell phone number is disregarded.
