Description

The status page in NewCrop is a snapshot of unfinished tasks and pending medications. This page should be viewed daily to ensure that all Rxs are handled in a timely and appropriate matter. The status page is found at the top of the NewCrop screens.

How to Access Status Page

To access the Status page, click on ‘Clinical Desktop’/’EMR’ from the main menu on the left. Select from the respective note/face sheet, choose prescription/Current  Medication tab to redirect to Newcrop Portal.

If a prescriber is logged in, anything on this page tied to his name will be highlighted in the rose color and listed at the top of the status page.

1. Prescriber’s Review List– A prescriber that is logged in will see any Rxs that are left under their name to process. This can be a Rx that needs to be transmitted or completed. Please find that patient in your EHR and switch over to NewCrop to process the pending Rx.

2. Prior Authorization Requests – This is the list of Prior Authorizations that are in process. Click on the patient name to launch Cover My Meds to see more information regarding the prior authorization for the patient.

3. Pharmacy Renewal Requests– If any or all prescribers are registered for electronic renewals, requests are listed so they can be answered. If unsure on how to properly answer a renewal request, refer to the document entitled, “Answering a Renewal Request”. If your EMR displays renewal requests in their screens, please contact PracticeSuite.

4. Failed Electronic Transmission If an electronic Rx fails, it will be listed in this section. Any failure will need to be retransmitted to the pharmacy. Click on the patients name, this will open the RxDetails page. Click the retransmit button, then transmit add to record. If this Rx has already been handled, e.g., a phone call to the pharmacy, click on the patient name, this opens RxDetails which will remove this failure from the list. Go back to the status bar to work on other failures that may be on your list.

Note: Controlled Rxs cannot be retransmitted. A controlled Rx will need to be written from scratch and transmitted as a new Rx.

5. Failed Fax Transmissions If an Rx fails, it will be listed in this section. Any failures will need to be retransmitted to the pharmacy. Click on the patient name, this will open the RxDetails page. Click the retransmit button, then transmit add to record. If this Rx has already been handled; e.g., a phone call to the pharmacy, click on the patient name, this opens RxDetails which will remove this failure from the list. Go back to the status bar to work on other failures that may be on your list.

6. Staff Processing List Any Rxs that have been created by a staff member that has not been processed (transmitted to the pharmacy or added to the patient’s current med list) will appear in this section. Please find that patient in your EHR and switch back to NewCrop to process the pending Rx.

7. All Doctor Review List – An Rx that is pending for ANY provider will be listed here. These can be Rxs that are either incomplete or have been left pending under a provider’s name. A prescriber or a prescriber’s agent can work on this list to ensure all Rxs have been handled. Please find that patient in your EHR and switch back to NewCrop to process the pending Rx.

The Prior Authorization Link

This link will open ‘Cover My Meds’ so that all prior authorizations can be viewed and managed as appropriate.
