Q: Why am I receiving an alert message when billing procedure code 99483, along with certain other procedure codes?
A: A new claim validation rule has been implemented to ensure proper billing compliance. The system will trigger an alert if procedure code 99483 appears on the same claim with any of the following codes: 99341, 99342, 99344, 99345, 99347, 99348, 99349, 99350, 99497, 99498, 99304, 99305, or 99306.
When such a combination is detected, the following message will be displayed:
“99483 cannot be billed with the procedure code(s): 99341, 99342, 99344, 99345, 99347, 99348, 99349, 99350, 99497, 99498, 99304, 99305, 99306.”
