When a new claim is submitted, the Re-submission Code should be set to “Original Claim” and there will not be any Original Reference Number.
At times, a claim needs to be resubmitted due to the changes/ corrections made in it. In such a case, the claim can be resubmitted by selecting the “Replacement of Prior Claim” option as Re-submission Code. Original Reference Number needs to be specified when resubmitting claims. This will be the Claim Reference Number (CRN).
When a claim needs to be canceled, the “Void/ Cancel Prior Claim” option can be selected as Re-submission Code. Original Ref # should also be specified in the respective field.
When the Resubmission Code and Original Ref # fields are updated, click on Save Enc. button to save the changes.
Also set the line status accordingly in order to submit the claim and click on Save Line button.
