A Third Party Payer ID or the Eligibility Payer ID is used for eligibility verification. This ID is unique for each insurance company; hence, it needs to be entered in the insurance set up for each insurance screen separately.

Follow the below given steps to add the Eligibility Payer ID for an insurance company.

Click on Setup from the main menu and then click on  Insurance/Plan.

On the Insurance Search screen that follows, pulls up the insurance for which the Eligibility Payer ID needs to be updated. For example. let’s update the Eligibility Payer ID for Aetna.

Type in the insurance name in Insurance Name field which will bring up the insurance details.

Click on the Edit Insurance button to navigate to Insurance Information screen.

Now enter the Eligibility Payer ID in the highlighted field (here it is ‘AETNA’) and click on the Save button to save the changes.

Once the Eligibility Payer Id is updated, eligibility can be verified using the Eligibility Verification Module.
