PML for UB04 Claims
PracticeSuite has introduced a new case-level feature to record the patient’s monthly liability (PML), i.e., their out-of-pocket expenses for institutional claims, particularly for Medicaid plans. A new tab labeled Manage Pat. Resp is now available on the Case screen and includes three new fields to capture the liability amount, met, and balance (see video below).
With every new UB04 encounter added for the patient under the relevant case, the met and balance are updated in the case. The system will subtract the charge amount from the current balance to reflect the new balance. The updated balance is displayed for Value Code 29 and populated to the relevant segment(s) in the electronic claim.
